The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival is put on by a partnership between two organizations. These two organizations had a common goal: to make the Festival a success; but also had individual goals such as promoting historic Franklin Square and showcasing the performers and artisans of the Festival. Our challenge was to bridge the gap and create a look and feel that all stakeholders felt accomplished their goals. This was a fast-paced project with final deliverables including print, digital, and outdoor tactics.
The Creative Solution:
By using a grid format, we were able to crop photos in a way that showcased both the lantern elements and the iconic features of Franklin Square. The bright color palette went beyond the red that was used in recent years to convey the vibrancy of the lanterns and performers at the Festival.
The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival is a celebration of spectacular Chinese lanterns, artisans and culture and takes place in historic Franklin Square.
